Seek Knowledge and Understanding. Proverbs: Chapter 2

Have you ever been to the point where you had absolutely no idea where to turn next? You have talked to your friends and every single one of them had a different idea on what you should do? It seemed there is no answer to be found?

Let me ask you this. Did you look for what God had to say about the matter at hand? The book of Proverbs talks over and over about knowledge, seeking knowledge, and applying that knowledge. The source of ALL knowledge is God. For the answers to all life's question, God has the answer. The One who created the earth, drew the first sunset, and numbered the clouds is the true source of the knowledge you need to live a righteous life.

Let's look at Proverbs, Chapter 2 (New King James Version):

My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and life up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the path of justice and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, equity and every good path.
When wisdom enters your heart and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perversity of the wicked; whose ways are crooked and who are devious in their paths;
to deliver you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words, who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. For her house leads down to death and her paths to the dead; none who go to her return nor do they regain the paths of life--
So you may walk in the way of goodness, and keep to the paths of righteousness, for the upright will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the earth and the unfaithful will be uprooted from it.
This scripture says look for wisdom like you would look for "silver" or  "hidden treasures." God's Word is rich and is a treasure. Each time you open the Bible, and "cry out for discernment" you will get an answer. It may not be the answer you want to hear, and it may not sound like the reasonable thing to do, but you WILL get an answer. "He will guard your paths." Doesn't that sound reassuring in a world full of questions and uncertainty?

With the knowledge of God, you will be far better off than without it. This promises that God's knowledge will protect you and guide you out of trouble. There will be situations in your life when there is no way out BUT GOD. And if you are prepared with God's Word in advance of those troubles, you are a better chance of coming out on top!
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5
There it is again. If you have problem, ask God for the answer. He says He gives it out freely and without reproach, or ridicule. God is not throwing you under bus. He wants to help you. He eagerly sits and waits for you to want Him and His ways.

My prayer for you is to know how accessible God is to you. All you have to do is be a willing heart for Him to work His plan out in you. That's all.
